I had an inkling that today would be difficult when leaving the albergue this was posted:

That was a tough one primarily because of the rocks, stones, pebbles along the trail and if you were not careful you could easily stumble or twist an ankle.
Since I took the less travelled route there were not many people and most of my time was looking at my feet. But I did cross a canal.

So my goal was to walk to Mansilla de las Mules, which I did, but again I didn’t make reservations so the 3 Albergues were full and so were the three available hotels!
It’s the last major stop before León so most people stop here. I contemplated sleeping in the park there but decided if I am sleeping outside I would prefer a smaller village not a busy town. So I fueled up and headed west. I arrived in Vilarente and space was available.
Tomorrow will be an easier day and I reserved a room for myself.
That’s all I have for today 😀
