Day 8: Logroño

View from my hotel room

I enjoying this day off, however while wondering the streets of the city I did rack up another 21,511 steps! So much for rest, but a change is as good as a rest.

While out I ran into a fellow pilgrim I walked with a few days ago and had hoped to see them again and I did. I walked with them on the trail as they were continuing on the Way. I look forward to catching up to Martine again.

It is strange to be around large crowds of people. For the last week the largest crowd was maybe 30? However I spent most of my time in the hotel room and just wandered around – my favourite way of experiencing a new city.

I am using this day to wash all my clothes, soak my feet and eat something other than bread. And I landed in tapas heaven.

Best sardine and tuna EVER!
Lemon Lime Gelato
It’s not calamari it’s fried squid! Fantastic
Chicken kebab-veggies perfect, chicken over cooked.
Chocolate Aztec with cherry ice cream.

Even though this was a day off, I still did a lot of thinking. What is a community? Making connections where you least expect it.

I will see you on day nine and let’s hope I feel fine!

  1. So glad you enjoyed your day off and your body got a bit of a rest and had time to re-fuel. Those ice creams looked delicious!. You’ll be well into day 9 now and picking up the pace again. Looking forward to seeing your post later today😊

  2. The view from your room with the hot air balloon would have been quite the sight in person! Great to have the rest day and wow those are yummy treats! Keep going!
