And no! I didn’t go to a hospital that most of you are thinking of! The town took on the name hospital in the 16th century when a pilgrim hospital was built here.

So I left Leon, a city I would come back to, and had two options for a route to take; along the busy highway or through farmland. I chose farmland. I heard that the highway route was not very pleasant.
I reached Vilar de Mazarife at around 11:15am and thought it was too early to stop and decided to continue on.
However farmland also had its challenges.
And once the asphalt ends in becomes a dirt road.

It was about 2 full hours of thinking it would never end. But it did in a very cute village.

I did pass this sign.

Less than 300 to go.
And now the hard part begins, or at least what I’ve heard. We are approaching mountains! I may have to purchase some warmer clothes!
Interestingly I had ideas of what I wanted to write about today but now can’t think of what they were. So I will leave you with some colour I have seen today.

Even on tough days you can still notice things and find beauty.
Very nice!! Ask a villager if he wants to sell his coat 😉
