The Wonders of Travel

Neist Point, Isle of Skye, Scotland

To know oneself we must get out of our head and comfort zone in order to see ourselves from an outside perspective.

When we explore other cultures and peoples we understand better how we fit into our world and how insignificant we are and how important we are!

But travel to other parts of our wonderful Earth means more than walking around, taking as many selfies to prove we were there. It means getting off the beaten path and mixing with locals, for if we don’t, have we really learned anything?

Travel should be being in the moment. Really looking at everything in front of you and experiencing it as opposed to wanting to capture that moment for posterity. The following video clip goes against what I am promoting!

Red Shoe Pub, Mabou, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia

How many of us have taken so many pictures thinking we will look back on them and say that was a great trip or relive those moments?

We shouldn’t view our lives through a camera lens or through a phone. We should just view them!

So just observe and enjoy what is in front of you.

  1. Totally agree!! I admire that about you – being present in the moment while travelling without a camera being on and in your hand
